Manolo Bakes is preparing to accelerate its growth across Europe, with the United Kingdom as its priority market, while exploring expansion opportunities in Latin America and the Middle East. The Spanish coffee & bakery brand has restructured its Expansion area to bring domestic and international development under a single leadership, reinforcing the global scope of its growth strategy.
The move follows the consolidation of Manolo Bakes’ business model in the Iberian market, where the brand now operates more than 70 stores across Spain and Portugal, supported by a loyalty base of over 520,000 members through Club Manolo Bakes. The company says store profitability and high repeat-visit rates underpin the concept’s potential to be replicated abroad.
International growth will follow a gradual and selective model, targeting markets with high urban density, an established coffee & bakery culture and a strong presence of grab & go and delivery formats. Beyond the UK, Manolo Bakes is evaluating entry points in Latin America and the Middle East, always through what the company describes as a rigorous, market-by-market approach rather than a uniform rollout.
“Strengthening our international expansion structure is a key step in our roadmap to turn Manolo Bakes into a global brand,” said José Antonio del Castillo, General Director of Manolo Bakes. “Having consolidated a solid and profitable business model in Spain, we believe this is the right time to pursue international growth with ambition, but also with discipline and a focus on creating long-term value.”
To enter new markets, Manolo Bakes will rely on strategic partnerships with multi-unit operators — companies with the capacity to manage several locations and develop the brand locally, meeting the quality standards and brand experience that define the concept in Spain and Portugal. Unit profitability, attractive return on investment and sustainable capital requirements are described as the pillars of the strategy.
The company expects to begin operations in one or two new countries during 2027, provided the right partners and market conditions are secured, while continuing its store-opening plan across the Iberian Peninsula. In the medium term, Manolo Bakes aims to become a leading player in Europe’s contemporary coffee & bakery segment.
